A great voice acting site. Very organized and detailed, plus a lot of activity around.

Re-discovered an old favorite in my archives that had a big ui improvement over the years and is one of the best image/video viewer out there.

DJV Viewer

This is an open source, cross platform, professional viewer used by studios around the world

It reads Cineon, DPX, FFmpeg, IFF, IFL, JPEG, LUT, OpenEXR, PIC, PNG, PPM, RLA, SGI, TIFF, Targa.

It recognizes image sequences automatically and plays them forward, backward, fast, slow and has shuttle controls like video editing consoles so you have absolute control over the frame rate.

You can even zoom in on a part of a video or image sequence and be able to play it at the speed you want.

As an added bonus, it reads 16 bit half float linear OPenEXR files with a gamma offset so they show exactly as they would if they where 8 bit instead of the really dark view you get from other viewers.

It does not play sound however so it does not replace another favorite of mine: Windows Media Player Classic...not to be confused with the crappy, buggy and just so underwhelming version that ships with Windows.

Im curious about how/why you use this mike?  I tend to use AnyVideoConverter when something video wise shows up in a format I cant use though I guess you lose quality in the conversion...

Thanks for the suggestions folks!  Im updating the list as fast as my fingers can wiggle.

Following the livestream of BenTuttles last Iclone Film School a few sites were mentioned that looked quite promising.  Krita is an opensource graphics software while Archive3d and TF3DM are 3d model repositories.

Hey Biz,

Here's a few sites I haven't seen in the list. This one's been around for awhile but I think it's been offline from time to time:

The Trailers' Park
Carnegie and other sourced mocaps converted to various formats

These 2 were recently mentioned on the Muvizu forums:

Fusion 8 (Free)
Visual effects and motion graphics

DaVinci Resolve 12.5 (Free)
Non-linear video editing & advanced color correcting.

Hey Biz Got another free open software entry for you: https://natron.fr/

For you out there who are intrigued and curious about the mystical black arts known as...

NODE COMPOSITING!!! (Thunder clap, boom, doom and Ka-Blewy) :o

It is, for all intent and purposes, a clone of the film Fx industry's most used software; NUKE

It looks, feels and works the same way. It has tutorials on Youtube, plugin packs available, got a strong following and it keeps being developed all the time.
