RL's putting on a little competition to see who can make/recreate the best movie poster using Iclone. Up to 300$ in DA points up for grabs to 7 winners. Its a quick turnaround with the contest open from 03/27/2014 to 04/18/2014.

Here is Warlord's Example

Could be fun. Anyone got any ideas on what poster to recreate?

Good guess Scott. Here is the first draft of the poster.

I got to revise the main picture a bit this weekend. Move popeye to the center of the white space and make him a bit larger, futz with his "Im killing a man" stance a bit more, move the man in front a bit more in front, adjust his angle a bit forward and maybe adjust the focal lens just a bit. Overall I think I like it. Your thoughts?

Wonder if Ken will be entering this thing. He's a movie poster connoisseur aint he?

I am (well, I collector posters) but sadly I won't be entering. I spend enough obsessive-compulsive hours in iClone doing book covers...

I do like your version of the French Connection poster, though - had that poster above my bed, alongside French Connection II (lesser movie, lesser poster) up to a couple of months ago.

Then I changed the theme, and now Steve McQueen and Mickey Rooney watch over me as I sleep...

Don't think I'll be entering, but thought it'd be fun to have a go anyways...

Man, I love that Bezzer. Why the hell are you not entering? I actually considered that particular one (it was in a top 10 best posters list) but decided I couldnt pull off the pose/expression but I think you did a wonderful job - hand gestures in particular. Do some post work and enter that shiit. Win the 30,000 points and get some free content! Love it!

Definitely some great posters and yeah you should enter, I may take a crack at it when I have the time.

I took a shot after the Wolf and Dulci show to make a poster for King Kong. I find making still images for iClone very relaxing and I'm quite happy with this product. It will be released shortly... (I have two more items to go with this)

Bezzer you should really enter this competition; it's a great recreation and it definitely worth an entry. I think if a couple of TMUers enter this, we might show what we can do. :)

Nice one Ben. Thats a very detailed ESB! I agree, making static scenes is fun and less frustrating/time consuming without the animation process.

Heres my second one once I decide whether or not to create the howto video:

Nice Biz:-)
My favourite of your three choices, probably because I have a soft spot for sci-fi/monster movie posters from the 50s and 60s and this one captures that vibe perfectly.
Great job.

Just read a pretty cool review of a recent documentary about Drew Stuzan; Drew: The Man Behind the Poster. This guy drew all the iconic posters of the 80s. Check out the grantland review to see some of the great ones. Blade Runner, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, The Goonies.... I had that Big Trouble in Little China poster hanging in my parents basement when I was a kid. Going to have to check that doc out.
