Questions about props

Is there a way to add other props that can be pulled out of the treasure chest in the beach scene? Is there an .ini file for that? Has anyone experimented with this?

I remember doing a modd a long time ago for that scene. can't remember what it was, it was one of my first made in Max....but it is possible to replace any prop once you figure out the logistics behind it.

This shows you haw to do it. Unfortunately you have to know how to use Blender. You might be able to do a HACK, using a HEX editor to change the name of the empty pivot to that of another game's prop. Or perhaps MeshManip could do this. (untested)

But the fun way is to use Blender. :)

 

Update:

 

I found another way for those who do not know Blender.

But you would have to settle for stuff that is already in the game.

A trick using Reacher's Meshmanipulator program.

Basically change the name of the group empty pivot to match the one used in the scene.

In the find treasure scene that name would be:

statue_ca_

(Blender has numbers in the name and I think this is mandated by python, but don't quote me on it)
