Regarded as a highly-anticipated cultural event, SAFILM offers priceless opportunities to filmmakers, garners extensive media attention, and is championed by community leaders for its diverse and exciting program.
Already one of the largest festivals in South Texas, this seven-day event has become renowned for uncovering cinematic treasures every year with an amazing lineup of 100% DIY shorts and features, with a keen eye for the idiosyncratic, the unique, and the untold. SAFILM aims to nurture, foster, and develop independent filmmakers of all ages and offers an array of opportunities to showcase films to diverse audiences, including film enthusiasts, local and national media, professional film critics, and radio and television station representatives.

San Antonio Film Festival is an accessible and inclusive platform for cinema artists that brings cinematic culture to a diverse audience and showcases films from around the world while educating and encouraging emerging filmmakers of all ages.

SAFILM offers a "micro-platform" release to appreciative audiences made up of both industry players and film fans who will undoubtedly spread the word and increase interest in the films presented. The Festival program receives attention from many film distributors and programmers from festival circuit mainstays around the world, making it a respected showcase vehicle for emerging film artists and their works.
All invited filmmakers receive festival passes with access to special workshops and some filmmakers may additionally be offered complimentary lodging and transportation.
